a to z: g is for go get um’ at night

How do I avoid wasted days? I don’t. I’m a daytime procrastinator. Tried and true, through and through.

However, all hope is not lost. I’m a pretty successful person (if I must say so myself). I meet all my deadlines and do so with high quality and 110% effort. How do I do it? I go get um’ at night.

I LOVE the night.

Right now, I have the luxury of not having a 9-to-5 job. However, I still have responsibilities and deadlines. But instead of fighting my slow, distracted, ADHD brain cells during the day, I utilize my night time wisely.

There’s no sense in fighting it. It takes double, if not triple, the time and effort to complete tasks during the day than it would at night. The night brings on efficiency.

I don’t know if it’s just me or my personality type (or a combination of both), but I just don’t/can’t work during the day.

I go get um’ at night.

  1. Cute intro. You sound like a night owl like my stepson. The key is to know yourself and maximize your productive time. Good for recongnizing that. “Go get ‘em” is a clever take on the G today. I’m enjoying your thoughts.

      • Thanks for the compliment – I’m new at this so glad to hear my sporadic attempts at humor are working. I have a few so-so posts for next couple of days – i think that’s part of learning in this challenge – to accept that some posts are meatier than others.

  2. I am the queen of procrastination! I stopped fighting it a long time ago. Once I accepted this aspect of myself, I stopped panicking about it. Everything got done on time. 🙂

  4. Love the illustrations …. Wish I knew how to do pics— very cool!! Looks like u r a night person to the max….. Good to know when n where you function at your max. My optimum I think is between 2 am and 4 am — kinda crazy . But I do think although I’m asleep about that time I stir a bit and inbetween worlds — but best ideas float/merge. This is from college days — I would sleep then wake up to study — then go back to sleep to let info sink in and then awake at usual time! !! Worked well for me to meet deadlines and finals!!! Isn’t it fun to discover/ rediscover or acknowledge the things u always knew but never talked about before!!?? Really neat,

  6. I’m the opposite, I can’t work at night -I’m a morning person! So I need to get up and go first thing and get it out of the way or it won’t get done. Late afternoons are the worse, I get virtually nothing done then.
Great illustrationg of procrastination though – and SO true! 🙂
