Shh… we’re having quiet time. Quiet time is something we developed in our household for times when we parents elect quiet time for the kiddos instead of naps so the kiddos can be put to bed earlier. The kids love it because that means they can watch a movie, do a puzzle, or read a book instead of taking naps. We parents love it because that means more quiet time for us at night.
When we’re not committed to going anywhere or doing anything, I prefer quiet Saturday nights lazying around in my recliner on my iPad or laptop while the hubby watches TV. That’s my idea of a perfect Saturday night.
The past few weekends, including this one, have been far from quiet. I’m already looking forward to quiet time and the weekend has only just begun…

Yes, this is a busy weekend (again) for us too. Here’s hoping for a quiet Saturday next weekend for the both of us!

We had quiet time every night ’round about 7 o’clock (one hour before bed). I didn’t care what they did so long as they were *quiet*. It took the place of nap time eventually too. Again, didn’t care what they did so long as they were in their room and quiet. ^_^ It brought peace and sanity to the household. Then again, I had four kids. 🙂

Yes, we try to do “wind down time” right before bedtime. It seems to help to decrease the playing in bed time. I totally get you with the peace and sanity to the household… I have 3 kids!

Quiet time is valuable. Although I’m an active person, I look forward to and make time for quiet time as it rejuvenated and brings balance.

I’m not active by choice… more by default since I feel I need to be social for the kids. But after a weekend like last (with 3 get togethers and 1 birthday party) and this weekend (with 3 Easter parties), I’m already craving my quiet time, which is probably why eventhough I’m super exhausted right now, I’m still up recharging all by myself.

I’ll have to remember quiet time as baby gets older. =)

We do LOVE naps, but if there’s no time or if we’re running late because of a lunchtime get together or something, quiet time is quite a nice substitute for naps. Especially the part where we then put the kids down for bed earlier than normal (sometimes even when the sun is still up)!
